mirrors in my mind.

“Nothing will work unless you do.” -Maya Angelou

My mind and thought process are pretty much all over the place always. I’ve been having this huge urge to not make myself up as much as I use to, atleast for now. These past 2 weeks, I’ve been wanting to look more natural, no nail polish, and light to barely any make-up. Well, it’s not like I use to wear a TON of make up to begin with, but I think it’s important to still feel confident with yourself without constantly being made up. The other night I saw a female write underneath a photo of mine, something along the lines of, ‘she forgot to do her hair?’ I giggled of course, as I always do when dumb remarks are made. I thought to myself that this is the EXACT reason why I haven’t been making myself up lately. We all know the wonders of make-up AND photoshop. I don’t want my followers to be misled. This is how I look. My hair not done, my finger and toe nails unpainted, no photoshop, just an outfit.

  1. I’m agree with you. I am not in favor of using photoshop in blog and sun as deception. We are more authentic natural and you’re beautiful without makeup (I have no such luck lol) xoxoxo

I absolutely love your touching on this topic…I think its so important that as women we don’t fully depend on make up to feel presentable..Yes make up is a wonderful thing, it can be what paint is to a canvas but the difference is a canvas doesn’t already have the natural beauty, features and bones that the face does…so its nice to learn to (from time to time) not be dependent on it..and feel worthless without it…

While I do love make up and how it enhances my looks I couldn’t agree with you more on this… You look great!

Well, then I must “forget” to do my hair everyday. I don’t usually do a whole lot to my hair— I’ll do something to it sometimes, but usually it’s just either loose with a little product in it, or up in a high top-knot. And most days I just wear concealer and mascara. I love makeup and sometimes I like to have fun and wear a lot, but I’m comfortable in my own skin and usually prefer my face without it. You’re a stunner either way.

I just adore this post. This is exactly how I’m feeling when I post on my own blog. If you can’t accept me for my natural look with any photoshop or makeup than why say something. I adore your hair. It’s a style I wish I had.

first time comment, i was quite incensed that people bother to leave negative remarks, so pointless – i have been following your blog for a while and have admired your determination, ambition and drive and your fashion styling oh and i always love the quotes too, and your hair.. x

my god, you’re so incredibly beautiful!! I love that you embrace not wearing makeup or doing your hair, it’s refreshing and you look gorgeous without it.

  9. natural… definitely… I myself quit on makeup and have to accept I am no longer 25, my face is changing, my body is changing… even my hair is changing. I fought against change for a long time. Now I feel a certain kind of freedom in my decision to accept beauty as it comes, in the size and age it comes in, with the sweetness of being just me, wrinkles and all. Finding you today has been a refreshing and inspiring experience…gracias!!! greetings from Mexico!
